Labour inspectorate on "Budma" construction fair
Chief Labour Inspector Tadeusz Jan Zając attended the opening ce remony of the International Construction Fair "Budma 2009" and the inauguration of "Construction Engineer's Days" in Poznań.

1350 exhibitors from 35 countries participated in this year's edition of the International Construction Fair "Budma 2009". From the 20th to the 23rd of January 2009, they presented over 200 new products. "Budma" Fair attracted a record number of visitors. Almost 65 thousand guests from Poland and abroad watched the fair exhibitions.
"Budma" Fair was accompanied by 60 sector-related events. One of them was a conference titled "Work safety in construction. Protection against falls from heights", organized by the National Labour Inspectorate and the Polish Economic Chamber for Scaffolding. During the seminar, principal labour inspector Krzysztof Duda talked about work accidents and accident hazards in construction, and inspector Małgorzata Słowińska presented the issue of protecting workers against falls from heights by using personal protective equipment. The seminar guests were, among others: Tadeusz Jan Zając - Chief Labour Inspector, Piotr Stanik - President of Polish Economic Chamber for Scaffolding and Edward Szwarc - Vice-President of the Polish Association of Construction Employers. The National Labour Inspectorate prepared a stand where NLI's publications on work safety in construction were presented and legal and technical advice on OSH in construction was provided.
