In a special series of articles in the “Labour Inspector” monthly magazine, we are presenting the most interesting excerpts of the presentations made by the participants of the international conference entitled “Labour inspection and the challenges of the future”. The event was organised by the National Labour Inspectorate at the NLI Training Centre in Wrocław on 27-28 October 2022.

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence stirs many emotions and brings questions on its future use in our everyday work. High hopes, but also concerns, are placed on the use of chatbots, such as ChatGPT. In front of our very eyes a technological revolution is taking place, with robots not only accompanying people, but also starting to replace them. The National Labour Inspectorate’s international conference “Labour inspection and the challenges of the future” was focused, among others, on such topics. The presentation of the Chief Labour Inspector, Katarzyna Łażewska-Hrycko, concerned robotization and algorithmization in work processes. Excerpts of this presentation open the special series of articles in the “Labour Inspector” monthly magazine, dedicated to the contributions of the speakers during the conference.

The event was attended by representatives of labour inspectorates of EU Member States, as well as representatives of the International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI), International Social Security Association (ISSA), International Labour Organisation, Senior Labour Inspectors Committee (SLIC) and European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA).
